I was born
in Hong Kong and completed my primary and secondary education at St
Paul’s Co-Educational College. I came to England in 1984 to
study A-Level’s at Rugby School.

I was
awarded the Peter Walker Prize for a place to read Medicine at the
University of Cambridge in 1986. I obtained my BA (Hons) degree
in Medical Sciences (2:1) in 1989, MB BChir (Cantab) degree in 1991 and
the following qualifications: MA (Cantab) 1991, FRCS (Eng) 1994.

I underwent
specialist training in Urology and Urological Surgery in London.
I also undertook research on the role of urinary sodium in the
sensation of urgency in patients with an Overactive Bladder. I
won a British Urological Foundation Scholarship and the Short Paper
Prize from the Urology Section of the Royal Society of Medicine.
I obtained
my specialist qualification, FRCS (Urol) in 2003. Following this,
I undertook sub-specialty training in Female and Reconstructive Urology
at the Institute of Urology, London.
In 2004, I
was appointed as a Consultant Urological Surgeon and Honorary Senior
Lecturer to St. George’s Hospital and Medical School at the
University of London.
I sit on
the Board of Surgical Education at St George’s Hospital Medical
School and I participate actively in the teaching of both medical
students and junior doctors.

I have been
invited to speak in regional, national (British Association of
Urological Surgeons) and international (International Urogynecological
Association) meetings
